About the Role


The Opportunity

ImmoRose is seeking an experienced and commercially grounded Financial Controller to lead and professionalize the company’s finance function during a significant phase of growth and operational expansion.

You will be responsible for building a world-class finance and governance structure capable of supporting high-value luxury real estate developments, construction operations, and infrastructure-linked projects within a fast-paced frontier-market environment.

You will serve as both:

  • The custodian of financial governance and control
  • A strategic commercial partner to executive leadership

The role requires an individual capable of bringing structure, visibility, and financial discipline into a rapidly scaling business while supporting strategic decision-making, project execution, treasury management, and operational performance.

This opportunity is best suited for a finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial yet ambitious environments and is excited by the challenge of building scalable systems within an emerging African market.

You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the project, procurement, commercial, legal, and operational leadership teams.

Your Mandate

Your core mandate will be to transform the finance function into a commercially driven control centre capable of supporting large-scale real estate growth.

You will be expected to:

  • Build stronger financial visibility across projects, operations, and cash flow
  • Create tighter cost control and commercial discipline across developments
  • Improve the quality and speed of financial reporting and decision-making
  • Help transition the business into a more integrated, systems-driven finance environment
  • Partner closely with leadership to support growth, profitability, and operational performance

What you’ll be responsible for

1. Financial Leadership & Governance

Lead the finance and accounting function across the business while improving reporting quality, controls, and operational discipline. You’ll:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Strengthen governance, controls, and finance processes
  • Support leadership with reliable financial visibility and insight

2. Project & Construction Finance

Work closely with operations and project teams to improve visibility into construction costs, procurement flows, inventory usage, and project profitability. You’ll:

  • Monitor project costs against budgets and BOQs
  • Improve operational costing and margin visibility
  • Help leadership identify inefficiencies and financial leakage early

3. Cash Flow, Treasury & Commercial Visibility

Help the business maintain strong visibility across liquidity, working capital, and financial exposure. You’ll:

  • Lead cash flow planning and forecasting
  • Support treasury, banking, and funding coordination
  • Improve commercial reporting and financial decision support

4. Systems, Reporting & Scale

Support the transition into a more structured and integrated finance environment as Oracle goes live across the business. You’ll:

  • Improve ERP utilization and reporting capability
  • Build cleaner operational and financial reporting workflows
  • Help create more real-time visibility across the business

5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

Lead and strengthen the finance team while partnering closely with procurement, projects, operations, and leadership. You’ll:

  • Build accountability and performance within finance
  • Support better collaboration between finance and operations
  • Help establish a high-performance, commercially aware culture

How you show up

  • You are a commercially astute finance leader with strong operational grounding and the ability to build structure within fast-evolving environments.

Commercial & Strategic Acumen: You understand the commercial realities of real estate, construction, and project-driven businesses and can translate financial information into actionable business insight.

Financial Governance & Control: You possess strong technical finance capability with a deep understanding of financial controls, IFRS reporting, compliance, and governance frameworks.

Construction & Project Finance Understanding: You are comfortable managing project-based financial environments involving procurement, contractor management, CAPEX monitoring, and profitability analysis.

Leadership & Team Development: You can build and lead high-performing finance teams while driving accountability and operational discipline.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Capability: You can identify financial risks, operational gaps, and performance issues early and implement practical corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field
  • CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • 8–15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Strong exposure to real estate, construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments
  • Proven experience managing budgeting, reporting, treasury, and financial controls
  • Strong IFRS and audit experience
  • Experience implementing or managing ERP/reporting systems
  • Exposure to African or emerging-market business environments is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance teams and driving operational improvements
